|Policy Agenda Community Input|
As part of our strategic plan, PUMP is developing a public policy agenda to guide our advocacy efforts relevant to our strategic priorities (Diversity & Inclusion, Education & Employment, Infrastructure & Connectivity, and Health & Wellness). The goal of the public policy agenda process is to identify the top advocacy and public policy issues relevant to PUMP’s strategic priorities in order to engage, educate, and mobilize PUMP constituents to effect change. The multi-phase iterative process will engage thousands of individuals at different moments to ensure that all viewpoints are heard and represented. The timeline is such:
May: invitation-only event to glean priorities from key partners working on strategic priorities
Aug/Sept: process responses and develop higher priorities from the established strategic framework, create questions to engage general public in the concepts that rose to the top of the lists at the partner event
Oct-Nov: all call events and online surveys for general public to provide additional insight to further focus our priorities through interactive displays using creative thinking
Dec: final online survey responses collected, process responses and refine with assistance of key partner organizations to develop public policy agenda
Promoting and/or attending the session(s) or participating in the online survey(s) will not in any way be construed as endorsement for the final policy agenda, but we do hope that by including yourselves and your constituents in the process you will be excited by the resultant agenda and initiatives to make Pittsburgh the first choice for everyone to live, work and play. The final agenda will be shared with all partners, business and individual members, and constituents with an opportunity to sign on as supporters of PUMP’s goals and initiatives to make Pittsburgh the first choice for everyone to live, work and play in early 2017.
