SUMMARY:Squirrel Hill East-West Connector Public Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Squirrel Hill East-West Connector Public Meeting\nThe Department of Mobility and Infrastructure will add a contra-flow bike lane to increase access for bicyclists along Bartlett St\, a mostly one-way street connecting Schenley Park and Frick Park. There are also intersection safety improvements planned for Serpentine Dr\, Wightman St\, Murray Ave\, Shady Ave and Beacon St that will aid bicyclists and pedestrians and help calm traffic. \nThe project will also include strategic bump outs to improve sight lines\, shared lane markings\, a bicycle climbing lane on a section of Beacon St and wayfinding signage. \nThis project will not affect legal parking spaces on Bartlett St\, but will remove a small portion of parking on the most North-Western portion of Beacon St. It will connect to existing bike infrastructure on Greenfield Rd\, Wightman St and Beechwood Blvd\, as well as upcoming connections at Serpentine and various trails in Schenley Park. \nPlease join us for the following virtual public meetings to learn more about this project within the Shadyside and Squirrel Hill Networks. The meetings will provide several opportunities to share your feedback and ask questions. \nRegister to Zoom at: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUvd-qrqTojGtILdDXiI09IBoadi_TDgDyK
