DESCRIPTION:Over a year inside—isolated from your sister-friends\, not knowing what anyone’s chin looks like\, not being able to eat out or celebrate with friends. Come August\, say GOODBYE to isolation and HELLO to The Reunion. Join When She Thrives’ as we bring women in our community together for good eats\, recognition\, a Book Launch\, and fundraising. \nThis year’s event will be hosted in Riverview Park on August 8th at 4:30pm. This event honors female changemakers in our community\, doubles as the Book Launch for our Scenes from a Single Mom Book Project\, and raises money for our programs\, which support single moms and their families year-round. She is courageous and a risk taker driven by her passion and she has a genuine concern for the advancement of others. Her presence\, position and purposeful body of work has and continues to demonstrate profound significance. Recipient: Paulette Stevens \nThe Trailblazer Award goes to a woman who dares to take the road less traveled\, she ventures into uncharted territories because she recognizes it is necessary. She is a pioneer in creating new ways\, new opportunities and new spaces for her family and her community to thrive\, specifically those who are underappreciated and overlooked. She is dedicated to progress and empowerment\, and her time\, talent and treasure is invested in the advancement and shaping of innovating change. Recipient: Ebony Lunsford-Evans \nThe Change Maker Award goes to a woman who is tenacious about the greater good and is driven by her experiences to change the experiences of others. She is a woman who identifies an issue or problem and gives herself permission to do something about it. She is not afraid to get her hands dirty\, she’s engaged and committed to serving where she recognizes the need for change and her grit and grace create the magic that draws others to join her movement. Her life is reflection of her desire and dedication to effect meaningful\, change in her home\, and community. Recipient: Kelli Shakur \nThe Community Cultivator Award goes to a woman whose life mission is to help elevate and improve the lives of individuals and communities everywhere she goes. Her light\, and spirit enrich the lives of not only the people she meets\, but the environments in which they\, live\, work\, play and serve. She is devoted to educating\, encouraging\, connecting and challenging those she encounters to build lasting relationships. build and rebuild foundations on which individuals and families can thrive right where they are. Recipient: Terri Shields \nThrive Ambassador of The Year goes to a woman who represents for WST everywhere she goes and with whomever she encounters. She sows\, into and serves the mission of WST in her daily life AND she shares the mission with any and everyone she can. She is active in her community and is always looking for opportunities to connect WST to women and organizations for greater impact. Recipient: Della Nixon
