Brian Magee is the current Chief Executive Officer of PUMP. For more than 20 years, Brian has worked for and consulted with a diverse array of public agencies and nonprofits, including the Montana Governor’s Office of Community Service, the United Way of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh, the Northeast Community Center Association in Spokane, the Chicago Community Trust, and numerous Montana nonprofits within the national service network.
He has also served on a number of boards including the National Council of Nonprofits, Montana Governor’s Task Force on Endowments and Philanthropy, the Montana Budget and Policy Center, and the Independent Sector’s Small Organizations Work Group that was part of the National Panel on the Nonprofit Sector.
Prior to his current position, he served as the first Executive Director of the Montana Nonprofit Association (MNA), which he developed over an eight year period from a start-up nonprofit to a nationally recognized advocacy organization for Montana-based nonprofits. He still maintains a connection to this work through Waypoint NP, his part-time consulting practice that focuses on business planning for state nonprofit associations around the country.
A native of Pittsburgh, Brian holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son and hiking, biking, and exploring the great outdoors. His other non-work related interests including politics, archaeology, world cultures, food, music, travel, and ceramic arts.
