SUMMARY:Jewish Pittsburgh & The Refugee Crisis: A Community Conversation
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, February 25th from 7- 9 PM\, Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JF&CS)\, the Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation\, the Holocaust Center and the Jewish Community Center will co-sponsor “Jewish Pittsburgh and the Refugee Crisis: A Community Conversation.” The program will examine how to create a safe\, welcoming space for refugees and community members to co-exist. \nThe program will feature three panelists\,:  Aryeh Sherman\, President & CEO of JF&CS\, Mark Hetfield\, CEO of HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) and Michael Kenney\, PhD\, associate professor of international affairs at the University of Pittsburgh\, and also a fellow at Penn State’s International Center for the Study of Terrorism. All three will contribute informed views and invite attendees’ questions regarding refugee resettlement\, safety concerns and creating a welcoming community. \n“Jewish Pittsburgh and the Refugee Crisis: A Community Conversation” is free and open to the public.
