DESCRIPTION:Downtown Public Meeting on Proposed Bus Rapid Transit Service\nThe Port Authority is hosting a series of public meetings in the next couple of months to present their updated plans for its proposed Bus Rapid Transit service and get community feedback. \nThe meetings will be addressing concerns from riders and state legislators\, as the original proposal included the potential elimination of nonstop bus service between the Mon Valley and Downtown Pittsburgh. Port Authority CEO Katharine Kelleman said that the Port Authority is looking to “re-initiate the process\,” to ensure that community needs are heard and met by the BRT project. \nThe Downtown meeting will take place at 2:30 PM on May 14 at Point Park University in the Lawrence Hall Room. \nWho: Riders of the 61 and 71 series routes and others who cannot attend a meeting closer to their neighborhood. \nSee the full schedule of meetings.
