SUMMARY:Volunteers Needed: Steel City World Cup (Group Stage)
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers Needed!\n  \nWe’re excited for our second Steel City World Cup which kicks off with Group Stage games all day on September 24th!  We’ll have approximately 20 teams from around the world playing short field games from morning to night.  The entire day will be a big celebration of soccer and Pittsburgh’s global community and we need lots of help.  You can learn more about the event HERE. \n  \nTo ensure a great event\, we’re looking for volunteers to assist with all aspects of the Group Stage games including field monitors\, score runners\, water monitors and refreshers\, set-up and clean-up\, and more. Available time slots include morning\, afternoon\, early evening\, or any combination of the three.  Flexibility is very helpful to us in our planning\, so if you are open to being assigned to wherever we need you or more than one time slot\, please indicate so during the registration process. \nOther Important Information\n\nAll activities take place outside rain or shine\nSome responsibilities require lifting and carrying 25 lbs

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the second Steel City World Cup and Global Festival presented by BNY Mellon and hosted by the Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project (PUMP)\, Pittsburgh Soccer in the Community\, Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Highmark Stadium\, and Welcoming Pittsburgh! \n  \n \n  \n\n\n\n      \n     \n     \n \n\n\n\nTournament Details:\n\n32 teams from 32 countries\n7 vs. 7 (including goalie) on small fields.\n    \nGuaranteed 3 games in Group Stage on Sunday\, 9/24.  All teams will be assigned to a 4-team Group at the World Cup Draw Event on 9/13\nAll teams qualify for the Round of 16 & Quarterfinals on Saturday\, 9/30.  Semi-Finals\, Championship\, and Global Festival will be held on Sunday\, 10/1.\n    \nAll Group Stage games are 36 minutes.  Round of 16 & Quarterfinal games are 50 minutes. Semi-Finals and Championship games are 60 minutes.\n$125 team registration fee to reserve spot.\n\nTeam Requirements:\n\nTeams must have a minimum of 8 players and maximum of 12 players\nTeams must include at least 2 women (Note: 2 women must be on the field at all times)\nTeams must consist of at least 3 players whose country of origin is the same as the country represented in the tournament.  Country of origin is defined as having been born in the country or having at least one parent born in the country.\nFirst come first serve registration by country and continent.  Once a country has registered or a continent is full\, additional teams for either will be placed on a waitlist.*\nContinents and team allocations are Africa (7 teams)\, Asia (5 teams)\, Europe (10 teams)\, North and Central America and Caribbean (4 teams)\, Oceania (1 team)\, and South America – 5 teams\nCheck HERE to see if your country and continent are still available and open.\n    \n\nPlayer Requirements:\n\nPlayers must be residents (or students with temporary residence) of Western Pennsylvania. \nPlayers must be at least 18 years of age.\nPlayers must sign a waiver before play and wear shin guards at all times.\n    \nPlayers must exhibit good sportsmanship and fair play.\n\nTo register\, you will need the following:\n\nName\, email\, and phone number of the Team Captain\nName of country your team is representing\nName and gender of all team members (minimum of 8 players and maximum of 12)\nNames of at least 3 team members who meet the country of origin requirement\n\nTwo ways to register:\n\nClick the “register” button at the top of the page to register online including payment.\nPrint the registration form HERE\, complete\, and return by mail along with payment.\n\nQuestions? \nContact Brian Magee at brian@pump.org or 412-338-2133 x10 or visit official event website at www.steelcityworldcup.com! \n*Following the registration deadline\, the tournament host committee will fill any remaining open slots from wait-list teams with priority being given to country teams not represented.  All wait-list teams will be notified of their status no later than September 4th. \n\n\n\n\n            \n\n\n \n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n  \n
