On April 29th at Point Park University, we hosted a nonpartisan Mayoral Forum. In partnership with Voting Is Power – a regional nonpartisan voting coalition – WTAE, and PublicSource, we hosted all candidates officially on the ballot for the office of Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh.
While we do not endorse candidates, we sought to provide a direct opportunity for our neighbors and community to hear directly from the candidates about the dominant themes of the race, their candidacy, and this moment in Pittsburgh.
We accepted questions from the broader community and worked as a coalition to craft the finalized questions that we asked of all candidates. We appreciate so many neighbors contributing their ideas on what to ask our candidates!
Point Park University were wonderful hosts and we were grateful to be safe and dry as our forum ended up coinciding with a strong, unprecedented storm that swept through the City and region. Fortunately, we didn’t lose power and all candidates and attendees were able to arrive on time and to stay while the storm passed over us.
We worked with the excellent team at Point Park University to broadcast and record the forum. Our livestream is available here and we will make the official recording available in the coming days once it’s edited.
