We support equitable investments in parks through increased funding, regular maintenance, and community engagement.
Pittsburgh Parks for All
PUMP was a primary sponsor of the Pittsburgh Parks for All ballot initiative, which voters passed in November 2019. Through a 0.5 mil property tax increase that generates $10 million per year, this initiative created a new parks fund to provide equitable, sustained, and critically important investments in parks across all Pittsburgh neighborhoods. The City of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh City Council manage the fund.
City Parks Action Plan Advisory Committees
Since PSL is one of the largest users of Pittsburgh parks, we serve on Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and the City of Pittsburgh’s Advisory Committees for the improvement and redevelopment of a number of city parks, including Mellon Park and currently Fowler Park. These action plans aim to create a unified vision for each park based on community and municipal priorities for park restoration, development, and activity.
