General Information:
Welcome to the wonderful world of the Pittsburgh Sports League (PSL), PUMP’s largest program serving young people. We began playing flag football in 2001 and continued growing and serving Pittsburgh with the best adult sports league ever since! We have a long history of making lifelong friendships, building fun and competitive teams, and even introducing couples to one another. We are excited for your interest and encourage you to play with us.
Registration:
Registration will open four times a year for each of our seasons – winter, spring, summer and fall. The winter season lasts from roughly January to March with registration taking place in November. Spring season lasts from March through June with registration taking place in February. Our summer season lasts from June through August with registration taking place in May. Our fall season lasts from September through November with registration taking place in August. When the schedule allows we will also add in additional mini leagues, like our late-fall league and our late-spring league.
The majority of our sports have registrations open for teams and for free agents (see below).
Team Captains are expected to register their team and then add team members to their roster. Exceptions to team registrations for our leagues include tennis, which is individual registration, and our running club.
Our PSL Player Portal will help you to find all the information you should need on participating with the PSL. We look forward to having you in our leagues!
Playing Solo:
The PSL isn’t just for teams; there are lots of ways that individuals can connect to us through joining our sports leagues and coming to our programming. If you are an individual looking to join a league you can register as a free agent during registration for any of our sports. We will do our best to find you a team, but cannot guarantee placement as we cannot control the needs of captains who have teams or that the number of individuals who register will be enough to form an Indy Team.
Registration for our Tennis Clinic is limited to individuals. During registration you will simply register yourself and proceed into the league directly. Our Running Club meets every Thursday and there is no registration necessary. Each week we will post the running location and all you have to do is show up.
In addition to these opportunities to play in our leagues, we also have Solo Nights and other programming aimed at encouraging participation for individuals and small groups. You can check out PSL specific events here or the PUMP calendar here.
Becoming an Official with the PSL:
The PSL relies on referees and umpires to make our leagues successful. All officials are treated as Independent Contractors. To apply to be a PSL official please follow this link so we can get to know you better. Questions? Email our PSL Officials Coordinator, Meghan.
