NOMMO Productions proudly presents the exclusive three-day virtual screening of THE AUGUST WILSON CENTER ~ BUILDING ON A LEGACY – from October 20 – 23, 2022 beginning at 12:00 a.m. This is a free, global event and the 4th documentary by noted filmmaker and cinematographer Billy Jackson, a native of Pittsburgh, which is home to the late playwright extraordinaire August Wilson.

LEGACY captures 30-minutes of Pittsburgh history, and the fulfillment of the Black community’s dream to have its own cultural center and to celebrate its history. LEGACY tells the story of the development of the August Wilson Center literally from the ground up using time lapse photography, interviews with the Elders in the journey, archive photos made by Teenie Harris, an iconic American photographer, and others, and an original score by Dr. Carl Atkins and Dwayne Dolphin. The documentary is narrated by film and stage star Stephen McKinley Henderson.
