Port Authority Hosting Mon Valley Public Meeting on Updated BRT Plan – Rankin Christian Center

April 12, 2018 @ 6:00 pm

Public Meeting on Proposed BRT Service

The Port Authority will be hosting a series of public meetings in the next couple of months in the Mon Valley to present their updated plans for its proposed Bus Rapid Transit service and get community feedback.

The meetings will be addressing concerns from riders and state legislators, as the original proposal included the potential elimination of nonstop bus service between the Mon Valley and Downtown Pittsburgh. Port Authority CEO Katharine Kelleman said that the Port Authority is looking to “re-initiate the process,” to ensure that community needs are heard and met by the BRT project.

The first meeting will take place at 6 PM on April 12 at the Rankin Christian Center. The first meeting will focus on Routes 61A, 61B, and P3, whcih serve Rankin, Braddock, North Braddock, Edgewood, Swissvale, Regent Square, and Wilkinsburg.

The second meeting will take place at 6 PM on May 10 at the McKeesport Palisades. The full schedule of meetings will be released soon.
