Philanthropy and Climate Change: A New Model for Building Urban Resilience

GSPIA’s Philanthropy Forum Presents:

Javier Alberto Soto, President and CEO of the Miami Foundation.

The Miami Foundation is a community foundation using civic leadership, community investment, and philanthropy to improve quality of life in Greater Miami. A prominent civic and national leader in philanthropy, Soto will tackle the question of how philanthropy out to address macro level issues such as climate change at a time when national policies are faltering and cities are increasingly the locus of innovation on intractable issues. He will discuss how to leverage cross-sectoral partnerships and efforts within the civic space to foster resilience in communities challenges by climate change.

Soto will be joined by local respondent Grant Oliphant, President and CEO, The Heinz Endowments.

A light breakfast will be served.
