World Refugee Day

The family-friendly event is free and open to the public. World Refugee Day will feature local refugee groups performing traditional musical and dance numbers, cultural crafts, and activities for kids. Traditional cuisine representing countries around the world, including Nepal, Syria, Mexico and several other ethnicities will be available for purchase from local restaurants and vendors. There will also be a naturalization ceremony at noon celebrating the new citizenships of former refugees now living in the region. Aerion Abney of the POISE Foundation will emcee and Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald will give brief remarks.
