Alex McGowan joined the team in 2026 as the Pittsburgh Sports League’s Officials Manager. Having a passion for sports and the city of Pittsburgh, he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2025, with a bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications and a certificate in Sports Studies.
Prior to his time at Pitt and joining PSL, Alex served as a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman. After his time in the Navy, he gained experience in sports and community engagement through his role with Casey’s Clubhouse, a nonprofit organization focused on providing inclusive baseball experiences.
Having been an avid sports fan his entire life, Alex brings a passion for sports, organization, and team development to his role, and is excited to support officials while contributing to a positive, fun and competitive league environment.
In his free time, he enjoys attending Pittsburgh sporting events, attending concerts, and spending time with family. Alex looks forward to building lasting relationships with everyone involved throughout the league!
