Jewish Pittsburgh & The Refugee Crisis: A Community Conversation

On Thursday, February 25th from 7- 9 PM, Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JF&CS), the Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation, the Holocaust Center and the Jewish Community Center will co-sponsor “Jewish Pittsburgh and the Refugee Crisis: A Community Conversation.” The program will examine how to create a safe, welcoming space for refugees and community members to co-exist.

The program will feature three panelists,:  Aryeh Sherman, President & CEO of JF&CS, Mark Hetfield, CEO of HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) and Michael Kenney, PhD, associate professor of international affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, and also a fellow at Penn State’s International Center for the Study of Terrorism. All three will contribute informed views and invite attendees’ questions regarding refugee resettlement, safety concerns and creating a welcoming community.
