The Draw the Lines PA Congressional Mapping Competition: Take Action before Dec. 14 Deadline, Win Prizes

We believe that voters should have the power to choose their representatives, not the other way around.

That’s why Draw the Lines PA, an initiative of the Committee of Seventy, is giving citizens the opportunity to create a valid map of Pennsylvania with 18 congressional districts using the free DistrictBuilder software platform through their competition to help end gerrymandering. Draw the Lines PA will be awarding prizes of up to $5,000 to Regional winners and Statewide winners.

Join us in working to end gerrymandering in PA! Draw your own map!

The deadline for submissions is 11:59 PM on Friday, Dec. 14!

Gerrymandering is the act of manipulating district boundaries in order to favor a political party or particular group of people. This results in voter disenfranchisement, noncompetitive elections, and an unrepresentative political body. In Pennsylvania, district lines are drawn by our elected officials, giving them the unfair power to choose the voters that reside in their districts.

Help fix the bug in the operating system of democracy and #SlayTheGerrymander by drawing a new and improved congressional district map for Pennsylvania. This competition is the perfect opportunity to stay politically engaged now that the 2018 Midterm Election is over.
